Free art package - The GIMP

If you want to try skinning or badge/banner making yourself but don't have an art program like Adobe Photoshop then I recommend downloading a free and powerful art package called The GIMP.

Woh! :shock: There are so many files on that site, and about 100 of them seem to be the one I would need!

If you're on the page I think you're on, you don't need any of them. You should have followed the 'GIMP for Windows' link on the side, gone to the 'automated installer' site, then gone to the Stable Builds page. All you need is GIMP and whichever GTK+ is relevant for your version of Windows.

Okay, i've done it and installed it, but now I'm left with the same thing, so all ive got is the option to install again and again, to uninstall, or to change the language. :?

OK, this was wandering away from skinning suggestions - it's a new topic now.

What did you download? What did you install and in what order? Do you have any new Start Menu options? and what is 'the same thing'?

Sorr, I should have been more precise, and the same thing had nothing to do with it, I downloaded the file, and now what I'm left with is an icon titled gtk+-2.8.9-setup-1
