Help!

Help! Some mods on this site, or new skins etc., when I download them, they tell me to extract them to my Dawn of War installation file, but i can't find it! Please help.

If you installed Dawn of War to the default location, it'll be c:\program files\thq\dawn of war\

Moving to DoW Skinning

Tried this, but the halved + quartered marines mods won't work, nor will re-skinning the Force Commander :(


Tried the Ultramarines mod, (the one that gives you the special charachters) and this will not work either.
Some mods works, some do not, why is this :?:

Version compatability, most likely. When you downloaded the Halved and Quartered Marine mods, did you download the 1.4 'hotfix' as well?

I'm taking it you're fully updated to the 1.41 patch?

What's happening? And can you post your warnings.log file?

You can find it in something like c:\program files\thq\dawn of war\warnings.log. Open it in Notepad, copy the content and put it in Code tags ([code])

That line makes it look like a normal Dawn of War start up. Please try posting your warnings.log from straight after the game crashed. If there's a warnings1.log, post that too (but there might not be)

The game didn't crash. Sorry, what I meant was that the mod didn't work, and that the new half / quartered / whatever marines didn't appear

At which point, the important line is:

You're not loading the Halved or Quartered Marines mod, you're loading default DoW. There are two ways of starting it - either run the "run_halvedmarines_mod.bat" file and it should start up DoW with the Halved Marines Mod already enabled, or start up DoW, go to the Game Manager on the main menu, select "Halved Marines Mod" and select "Activate", then confirm the message about it wanting to restart the game.
