NEW FX on the way!

I have just uploaded the guard FX i have made. it has taken a while as this was my first attempt at FX edits. overall i think it went well, with about a day to master the FX files!

next i am working on changing space marine plasma guns to green glows/projectiles, as most GW models are painted with green plasma cores on them.

any feedback would be much appreciated.

Sounds interesting. Have you seen the FX that Hangar-8 did? IIRC it was for the Sisters. I've never looked in to FX, but I'm sure they're like most of the textures - reasonable, but could do better.

Any chance of some screenshots? :)

Yeah its the same principals of the melta effects done by hangar.

im just looking into FX, but they are fun to play with. any suggestions for changes in FX and i'll give them a go. they are so varied, you can even change the type of FX texture, so you could have flamers spurting icy gas, or plasma beams (not fluffy of course!)

Looks interesting and crackly. Have you changed the actual texture, or did I just never notice the crackle before?

the crackle has always been there, but not as bright.

i am still having issues with finding the projectiles themselves, so at present the flare is green, but the plasma ball it shoots is blue! (there are countless files called 'plasma_etcetc.')

Also, could someone try to install these and tell me if it works, as i have had feedback of it not working.

as far as i'm aware, if you put the file named 'guard' into:
DXP2/data/art/fx it should work.
