I saw the Emperor's throne in a dream (possibly)

Postby TGSC at 26 Jan 2006, 11:21

Can't quite remember what I was dreaming about but I do remember this.

That's kinda what my subconscious thinks the Emperor's throne to look like.

The dream was a little bit different to the pic but its mostly accurate. There were dozens of big concentric iron circles swinging round in all directions (don't ask me how that works, I presume it's psychic powers) and they focused energy at one point (presuming psychic) which went in a beam to the Emperor.

The throne was immense, probably a good 100ft high, cables all up the back and over the top into the emperors head and body, probably influenced by old school illustrations of the Emperor. The distance between the focus point and the throne isn't to scale with the throne itself, in the dream the distance was massive, the platform dwarfed the throne, so you can imagine the size of the rings. The gothicky structure on the side and the mountain below the throne weren't in the dream, just added them on the drawing.

I'll try and do a more accurate picture when I get some more time.

Looks a bit like the set from one of the episodes of Stargate SG-1 or that super computer thing from the film X-Men. There is a description of the Golden Throne in the novel Inquisitor by Ian Watson but i cann't remember the details.

Cerebro? Hmm, similar. Imagine rather than walls it was just lots of giant iron hoops spinning on all axes and on a massively larger scale than the xmen thing.

wow, googling golden throne throws up this bit more techno-gothic rather than baroque and thats a start for any GDer

Crazy dreams :D I'm not sure if GW have ever shown the inside of the throne room in any pics, but I remember the Inquisitor part too. Draco Jaq (or Jaq Draco? I never can remember and I always think the opposite way round would sound better :D) went in to commune with the Emperor, but other than the description of the Emperor having multiple personalities (so as to control everything) I can't remember details :\

As for the pic, apparently it's in St Peter's Basilica - I thought it looked Vatican-ish, but I didn't think we'd seen it. Didn't get to go into the Basilica :(

Lots of concentric circles spinning around....thats the dimension jump engine from Event Horizon isn't it???

And the Inquisitors name is Jaq Draco. :-)

Oooo, fancy :) and did we go in the Basilica? What's the bit round the back called then. I know it has a name :D

As for Jaq Draco, I still think Draco Jaq (or even Jaques) would sound better!

We went in the front bit of the basilica, and round the basilica itsself then in the sistine chapel and up the stairs to the dome I think.

Do you not remember looking up into the dome?

Yeah, I remember the dome, just thought that the back bit was called the Basilica :D Think we went up the dome first, though, then round the inside. Can't be sure!

Oh, and the map is giving a 403 forbidden (probably hotlink protection)
