OK, created as its own thread, since it has nothing to do with slang :)
You'll need to set up an account at somewhere like Photobucket.com, ImageShack.us or some of the other big free image hosting places, find out the URL that it gives you once you have uploaded the image and then put that into the "Link to off-site Avatar" box in your profile. Be careful with the copyright though, GW Legal can be a bit strict and at some point I'm going to make sure that I add that images either aren't copyrighted (like the ones I got from phpBB which are free to use) or that you own/have permission to the copyright. It's a pain, I know, but such are legal departments :\

Which reminds me, I've still got to put that big "copyrights owned by....." and "we are completely unofficial" message at the bottom of the forums still

I think you need to drop the avatar size a little - I put the size rules (so that avatars don't screw up the site design) into a pinned thread in General Chat :)

Yeah, you can resize, not just crop (thanks for that TGSC!)
The rules say 100x100, but that doesn't look too bad at 100x135 - I might up the limit to 100x150.
For now I've removed your current avatar, now that you have an alternative to host and use.

[edit] Also, I'd recommend using something better than an AOL email address if you want to actually receive any automated emails. My girlfriend runs a site that used to involve quite a bit of emailing members (a directory of beta readers for stories - effectively like editors who look over and find typos and grammar problems) and a lot of the emails became delayed or failed. More recently it has become automated, and within a few weeks our server was blocked from sending _all_ emails to AOL because someone tagged two or more emails from any site on the server as spam (that's the minimum, that's about all it takes for AOL to block an entire server!) Because of that, my girlfriends site no longer accepts AOL email addresses, because AOLs service to outsiders is so abysmal. We still accept them here, but there are so many free options out there that I'd recommend you use on of those (even a Hotmail address, and I personally don't like Hotmail!)

Rant over, normal service may resume :D
