Another random thing from work - Audioscrobbler.

Its the progression of someones Degree project and its a plugin for most of the main MP3 playing programs. Half way through each track it automatically sends the details of that track to their server, where it is recorded with your username and password. It then analyses that info and shows what and who you've played and how much, and it can also tell you your 'musical neighbours' to give you an idea of new music to listen to from people with similar tastes.
