It's amazing, thinking about it, how much insight Terry Pratchett actuall has into life.
The one thing I remember more than anything else is from The Truth.
In it, the Patrician says that he believes people don't wan't to hear news but olds. And it is true, people are not interested on the news about New stuff, they want to be told the old stuff, that they already know about, again.
Examples are:
1) Michael Jackson and how much of a freak he looks. Everyone knows it already, but they like watching it on the news.
2) Troubles in Nothern Ireland. People already know that there is trouble between the Catholics and Protestants, but they still want to hear it on the knews.
3) Politicians cheating and lying. It happens every second of every day, but they still put it on the news for people to gobble up.
How can Terry Pratchett be so insightful?
