I'll move this to Sideline games in a minute as it's about DoW, not GW miniatures.

The schemes work quite well, although it's a bit strange that each company of the chapter changes its colours so much. The normal thing (except with the Dark Angels with their 1st and 10th companies) is to have a common main colour and then vary the trim, helmet or some other detail.

Interesting shades of red/brown you've got for the third company. Is that something it took you a while to find or is it in the paint colours?

Yes, but I haven't managed to memories the paint colours, especially not all the ones I put in to UberPainter ;)

I wondered whether he got it from somewhere like a paint picker (or something online) or whether it was one of those colours where you're moving around the colour graph, find something quite interesting and then tweak it to improve it.

I used different colors for each company because each one has a role in the chapter. I did a whole history about why they are different colors and what each role the companies do.

on the 3rd company stfas is right on the color code and what I use is paintshop pro colors to test things out and then moved it to dow armypaint. Then I tweak it to where I want it. I like to use different shades.. on the 1st,2nd and onslaught companies all have the same trim Bronze gold . Took me a while to get it right but looks very well on them

Interesting use of a very dark "kind of green" colour. Not sure if the colouring of the tactical arrow is the best it could be, though, as it blends in a bit. I can't remember if there is anything else on the same colour layer that it might affect if you change it.
