Throne of Judgement now a reality

Okay, so it's not a perfect match yet, but apparently Korean Advanced Institute for Science and Technology has made a Robot Chair that looks surprisingly similar to the Throne of Judgement that the 40K Witch Hunters can field.

All they need is a bit of extra armour, some heavy guns and and old guy sat in it and they're set Oh, and they'll need to give it a real generator too, instead of running it off the mains.

The page also includes a little YouTube video of someone in it and moving it around.

It is fairly similar to Asimo's design, but I think that's probably just a general "using square legs and going for a glossy white plastic look" thing more than anything

I'm just waiting for them to be able to make it run so you can have Sentinels.

Hey Koreans with sentinals...is that a good thing?...RPGs and Kalinchnakov 55s is definatley a bad thing on a combat platform in my opinion...

KAIST is in South Korea (rather centrally from the map I just saw) so they're not the Kalashnikov wielding ones. That'd be the North Koreans (probably). South Korea is probably about as well equipped as Britain and America.

Actually, given some of the recent British problems with sand in guns and tanks while in Iraq then it wouldn't surprise me if they were better equipped!

TBH, I'd probably be more worried about the Americans (specifically people like Bush) getting hold of Sentinel-like things. You never know what he might plan next if he had mobile armoured walking units! At least Korea is out of the way and most likely to send them North, if anywhere.
