Anyone remember an STC story about Rh1n0?

It might not make much sense to some, but it might to others.

I remember reading (at some point) a story about the STCs that the Space Marines use (Standard Template Constructs), which include the Rhino troop transporter. Apparently Rhino came from the fact that its code name was the RH1N0 (which I've listed in the encyclopedia entry) but I can't for the life of me find where it was the 'Unknown' reference was. Chances are it was buried in a WD mag.

Anyone else remember the RH1N0 story?

It's at times like this that i could really kick myself for getting rid of my WD's, i'm sure i remember the article you mean but for the life of me i can't remember the details....sorry.

At least I'm not imagining it All I need is to get my parents to bring down my big stack of WDs back in to at least the early 100s (plus a few before that) and then I'd be able to look it up myself. I've only got the last two and a bit year's worth with me (the ones from living in Hereford now, last year's from Manchester, and the year before's from Bracknell)

Oh, and I'd need some shelving for them all as well (and the almost complete set of Fighting Fantasy books, and the collection of board games and starter boxes...)

And I'd need the Fiancee not to mind. She thinks it's just pointless hoarding. It's not, it's a historical collection

I don't think she believes that one. She just sees it like her dad's aviation magazines that collected dust and that he didn't read. Okay, so I haven't re-read most of them in ages (partially because I don't have them!) but I do occasionally look things up in them or reminisce

As it happens I can remember the story and I happen to have a stack of early WD’s next to me.

Issue 103 and the article is called RAMPAGING RHINOS page 63.

Please don’t think I am too sad, as I was thinking of ditching the early issues that’s why they were next to me.

I was just looking at the Thrud the barbarian cartoons I forgot how much they made me smile.

I'm fairly sure it wasn't one that old. The one I remember (I think) was much more recent, more in the late 200s (around when they gave away the large Land Raider poster).

I could be wrong though, as I do have (at my family's house) a rather large stack of White Dwarfs dating all the way back to at least 120 without any gaps, possibly even to 100

Back on topic: If only I had my stack of White Dwarfs in my current rented place instead of half way up the country with my parents. Unfortunately we don't really have the space :\
