Which races are considered chaotic?

As for the post being above the poll, I've never seen that on any forum - it has the title above it though, which is usually plenty as long as people title their thread properly, which can be asking a bit too much sometimes

Oh, and as if you couldn't tell, I voted Chaos Marines
Some of the others (maybe Dark Eldar) are slightly Chaotic, and some more are chaotic (as in the normal English meaning, rather than Chaos based/worshipping) but most of them are just their own race.

I would have to say the Emperor's Space Marines can be chaotic,I mean look at it this way,the Imperials kill their own people let alone all the other races helping them along,but with Exterminatus looming over the heads of the poor people of the Imperium,I mean come on a simple threat of that keep people in line or causes rebellion atleast the Actual chaos marines just shoot to kill no matter what

That isn't quite chaotic though. The Imperium is full of law and order. Granted it isn't necessarily normal law in our eyes, and the order can be a bit agressively enforced, but nothing in that says chaotic to me.

You could be right,but you must remember some worlds see little difference between Chaos Marines and the Space Marines,Adeptus Terra is a prime example since people fear the Space Marines there..even after the Horus Heresy,and thats 10,000 years in the past.

There is a difference between fear and....erm...fear though. They will fear CSM because of what they can do, because of the corruption and because they don't believe in The Emperor. The fear of SM will be because of what they can do and what they are often sent to do. Space Marine Chapters can be used to quell rebellions, but can also take it into their own hands to quell what they see as a rebellion, so they might attack anyway, just because they perceive something to be the starts of a taint or rebellion. For one of the Adeptus orders, it's not good to have a group of super-human warriors that only do what you say most of the time!

The way I see it, being Chaotic isn't defined by how they do their governmental policy. Being Chaotic to me is to worship either Slaanesh, Khorne, Nurgal, or Tzeentch. If some codex states that there's more please correct me. True, the Space Marines have a bit of a ham-fisted approach to dealing with suspected worshippers (read: holy freaking crap, and EXTERMINATUS!?), but we could say the same of our past Inquisition. As for Eldar, they've been described by Space Marines themselves as Chaos's most ancient enemy. Orks, well, they have no viewpoint as long as they have something to kill, which in itself might be construed as Chaotic, but not by my standard. Dark Eldar, they're half and half. Some of them are actually tainted, but others are just pissed off Pirates. I don't know much about the other races, but I'd dare to say that the Necrons are probably Chaotic, but I could easily be wrong. Those are my two cents, spread the word.
