Dark Angels items

Hi,

I'm just starting a Dark Angels army and I was wondering can Dark Angels take items from the normal Space Marine codex IE teleporter Homer. Are the Dark Angels suck with what they have in their own codex?

My understanding and reading of the codex is that they are replacements for the Space Marine codex. Different chapters play differently, in part due to the units and equipment they can take. Dark Angels seem to have Teleporter Homers on attack bikes, but not characters (which is fitting for their "deep-strike with bikes" style).
