as a space marine and rohan player, i have chosen to play with the bretonnians
what is a good start of models to buy

The obvious start would be a battalion box. That would give you a general, a block of knights, and some peasants. On top of that then I'd probably strengthen the nights with either a second block or possibly some Errants. If you want to go harder or more expensive then go for the Questing or Grail knights, but if you want a different style of army then go for the mounted yeomen. A damsel wouldn't hurt if you wanted slightly more magical protection, but it depends on whether you want to focus on hitting hard and fast or going for a more rounded army.
