phpBB3 Upgrade

The forums are now running on phpBB3. If anyone has any issues or finds any bad styling, please contact me.

Currently known issues are:

• IE doesn't render profiles correctly, and so some of the information is missing
• IE may have intermittent problems with some of the backgrounds in the UCP
• The right hand edge of the UCP goes outside the main container in IE
• [google] tags won't work, but then I think I was the only one to ever use them
• Only HWT Standard skin currently exists

I've previously upgraded the install to RC2 and now we're running on an RC3 install.

If anyone finds any problems, please yell.

RC is a release candidate. It means that the phpBB team think that it's ready for release and so they're making it available for the public, but that it may still have some minor bugs that they hadn't noticed.

It took me a little while to get around to it, but we're now running RC4. I would say that hopefully RC4 will become the final Gold release, but there still seem to be a reasonable number of bugs to fix in the phpBB bug tracker, so prepare for another update.

I've just recently noticed that there were some errors in the UCP section that would completely fail to show the page. These were caused by incorrectly uploaded files and they should now all be fixed.

A while after it was released, we are now up to RC5.

Following the RC4 upgrade their had been some badly uploaded files that were affecting the moderating control panel, but I don't think it was affecting most people and it should all be cleared up now.

I finally got the site updated to RC7 and then found out that RC8 had been released 10 days ago! We're now patched up to RC8, so if anyone finds any bugs then either PM me or email me (via Skins@HWT or HiveWorldTerra contact forms if the forums won't let you)

Having patched us up to RC8 I then noticed the announcement about phpBB3 being released as Gold in three days time. Expect another update soon!

[edit] Okay, the Quick Reply doesn't quite seem to be working correctly. I thought I'd fixed it last night, but I'll check again tonight. You won't lose anything, but you will currently get taken to the normal posting form when you submit a quick reply.

[edit 2] It's not 7pm yet and the issue is resolved. It seems I'd updated the back-end code but not the template for the quick reply. You should now be able to quick reply as normal.

Right on schedule we're now fully updated to phpBB3's final Gold release.
