Members deleted

Following an announcement of the change to the ToS, Nes482 (one of our oldest members) has been deleted as their email address bounced with a fatal error. An additional Cashette user (this time loginne@) will also be deleted as soon as I track the account down, as their email bounced and their address is dubiously similar to those deleted earlier.

[edit] The other cashette user was Stameska, who turns up on multiple other forums of different types on exactly the same day.

And another new Cashette member, Samanta Thomson III, has been deleted. Again the email address began "login", this time "logintmt@", and the registration email bounced. Since all members must have active email addresses, the account has to be deleted.

The new user "order phentermine" has, unsuprisingly, just been deleted. I'm also going to keep an eye on people registering with @tren.to email addresses in case it is a replacement for the inbox.ru trend.

Phentermine-2006 has been deleted for having an obviously-going-to-be-a-spammer name and an unroutable domain for their email (@vest.com)

I've now got my eye on our latest member again - their email address begins "loginrtsm@", which is suprisingly similar to all of the recent cashette.com ones, and it's a .ru, like the pre-Cashette spammers.

It's a shame spammers have to make a good proportion of the small number of registrations we get into fakes that get deleted.

Another unsuprising deletion - phentermine-cheap-2006 has been deleted within an hour of signing up. I'll be looking into partial name blocking at some point soon (but not overall blacklisting, since people may wish to complain about phentermine spam in a post, which I don't want to stop!)


[edit] It's a little bothcy, but I've found a way to do it in the existing system. phpBB censored words replace words with a censored version and also stop people signing up with the word in their username. Add "phentermine" as a censored word that's replaced with "phentermine" (exactly the same word) and you get a username block that doesn't stop people posting the word

Sugarcat and Defchenka have now both been deleted for failed emails, with more coming after I examine the logs.

Also, our new anti-spammer filter has now blocked 56 people since Monday (all appearing to be spammers, and some being the same spammer several times in sucession), has allowed one legitimate registration and one registration I'm keeping an eye on.
