how do you actually install mods for soulstorm? i've extracted the files, now what?

Once files are extracted to the right location then they are "installed". They should appear in the game manager once you've extracted them (as mentioned earlier in the thread).

also, when it says "error opening file" when you extract a mod, what do you do? i use the free version of winace.

If the mod is well packaged then it should tell you (all of the mods on Skins@HWT should have a readme, as far as I remember).

As for where they go, in general it should be answered by the FAQ. Basically, you should end up with a .module file and a folder in the same place as your main Dawn of War .exe file (whether that's DoW, DC or SS). If, however, someone has packaged it slightly differently then you might not be able to just extract everything in to your DoW folder (e.g. if they zipped the DoW folder as well).

As for "error opening file", that probably means that either WinAce can't handle that file format or you don't have a complete download.
